The restaurant is located in a new pavilion designed by Reetta Aarnio, Laura Kakkola and Anni Nokkonen in Tapiola.
The design of Sandro – a restaurant focused on Middle Eastern and North African cuisine – takes its cues from the surroundings of Tapiola, fusing the restaurant’s colorful identity with the bold modernism of Tapiola’s architecture. The restaurant interior reflects this through distinct, monochromatic color schemes/palettes applied to different rooms of the restaurant. Warm yellow hues greet the visitors at the entrance while soft, earthy shades of green and terracotta envelope restaurant-goers in the bar and eating space. Contrastingly, bright reflective materials are reserved for the restroom spaces. The visually striking foliage of the bird of paradise and fiddle leaf fig is an integral element in the interior, reflecting the identity of the restaurant.
The restaurant seats 120 guests with an option to double its capacity in the summer onto a spacious terrace surrounding the restaurant on three sides of the building.
