As Oy Haapaniemenkatu 16 is a large-scale housing cooperative comprising three 18-story buildings with 496 apartments and over 2,000 square meters of communal areas. The project involves the renewal of all technical installations and bathrooms, as well as the renovation of common areas. Notably, the HVAC systems are currently situated at the pedestrian level, providing a sea view.

In our proposed design, we suggest relocating the HVAC machinery one level down to the basement, while repurposing the current location for new rentable spaces. This strategic move could generate additional income for the housing cooperative, putting the space to a more efficient use than before.

Construction is scheduled to commence in early 2024.
